ISTE Standards
1. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
a. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments
My Progress Towards This Standard:
Evidence 1: Padlet-SLP
The padlet above was created for my service learning project. As one of my artifacts for my assigned teacher, I created a padlet board for her to use in order to share her students' art projects. Padlet is a great tool that inspires student learning and creativity because it makes them proud of the work they completed and promotes being a hard-worker and creative. It also engages parents and students under a virtual environment where all their projects are shared.
Evidence 2: Plickers
Plickers is an online assessment tool where students answer questions using a variety of symbols responding to each answer. Using a iPad, teachers scan the class as they hold up their answer and the iPad collects the data and reveals how many students got it right and wrong. This represents the ISTE-T standards above, specifically c and d, because it is a creative way of assessing students on their understanding of topics via a virtual environment as well as face-to face.
Evidence 3: ThingLink

Evidence 3: ThingLink
The technology resource above was created with Thinglink. Thinglink allows you to create an interactive image with videos, articles, and outside sources. For example, in the thinglink I created above, I made an interactive image that features articles, videos, and podcasts about the advantages of a multimedia classroom. Thinglink will be a valuable resource for students because I can use it as an introduction to topics and will be available for students to access. As a result, thinglink helps to enhance one's learning of topics and is an effective introductory tool and resource for students for topics and lessons.
2. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards•S.
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching
My Progress Towards This Standard:

My Progress Towards This Standard:
Evidence 1: Concept Map
This is a concept map that I will use to teach my students an English lesson based off of a state standard. This standard states that students must be able to identify characters, settings, and major events in a story. To satisfy this standard, I will have my students create concept maps based off of the book we are reading. In this example, I used The Berenstain Bears go to School. Concept maps are great tools to use, as well as succeeds at completing standard b, because it is appealing to many learners. It provides a visual aspect, as well as a written and reading aspect. Concept maps are a great resource for students even after they learn the topic because it will be easily available and understandable as review for the students! This concept map meets the ISTE standards above because students are designing something in order to advance their learning, as well as promote creativity since they are designing the concept map. It can also be used as an assessment to see their progress in understanding the book and meeting the state standard. This way, I can evaluate each student on their progress.
Evidence 2: MyStoryBook
Shown above is an example of a "story book" created with mystorybook.com. mystorybook.com is a resource that I will be using in my furture class that allows students to create books online. In this example, the student used mystorybook.com to demonstrate the life cycle of butterflies. I plan to use story books for creating "How To" books. mystorybook.com is an engaging and interactive way for students to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic, without wasting paper or school resources. It is a great way to also evaluate students on their knowledge of grammar and spelling as well.
Evidence 3: EDpuzzle

Evidence 3: EDpuzzle
In this example, I used EDpuzzle in order to add interactive assessment tools to an instructional video I made about living vs. non-living things and how to further sort them into sub-categories. The standard I chose was: S:LS1:2:1.1 Differentiate between living and nonliving things; and categorize objects in each group using the significant observable characteristics they share, such as color, shape and size. And,
S:LS1:2:1.2 Recognize plants and animals as living things and describe how they are alike and different. This example represents the ISTE standards above because it is a digital assessment tool that promotes student learning and forces students to actively participate through interactive quizzes and discussion questions. EDpuzzle is a great assessment tool because it allows teachers to see which students do not understand the topic by observing which students got questions wrong or right. It will also help students gauge how well they know the topic and what they need to improve on.

My Progress Towards This Standard:
Evidence 1: My Educational Twitter
The twitter above is my personal, educational twitter. My twitter represents the ISTE standards above because I am a part of a community of educators who share their ideas and knowledge of technology uses in the classroom. I am a better educator because of the influx of information I receive from my twitter.
Evidence 2: Smore
Evidence 2: Smore
Smore is a website that allows you to create interactive flyers. In my classroom, I'd use Smore to create newsletters for my parents and students on my teacher website. In this example, I did a field trip flyer. This example meets the standards above because I am using digital technology to communicate with students and parents.
Evidence 3: Teacher Website
The link above is to a teacher website that I created in my W200 class at Indiana University. This website has a variety of pages dedicated to technology resources, class materials, and assessment tools. a. Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources
b. Address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources
c. Promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information
d. Develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital age communication and collaboration tools
My Progress Towards This Standard:
Evidence 1: Technology Rules for the Classroom
The link above is to my tech resources page on my teacher website. On this page, I have a piktochart that was created in order to organize my future classroom technology rules. These technology rules advocate safe use of digital technology in the classroom. For example, one of the rules is, "Never Put Any Personal Information Online". In terms of promoting digital etiquette, another rule on this piktochart is, "It is NEVER okay to say hurtful things to others online."
Evidence 2: The Do's & Don't's of Online Use
The link above is to my class materials page on my teacher website. On this page, I have a piktochart that was created as an informational flyer for parents. On this flyer, there is an abundance on information on cyber-bullying and resources that parents can utilize in order to prevent their child from being cyber-bullied. Again, this resource promotes safe online use and proper etiquette.
Evidence 3: CC License

My Progress Towards This Standard:
Evidence 1: Hour of Code
This is my certificate for completing an hour of coding. The Hour of Code is a movement to introduce coding to students of all ages. As a part of my W200 course, we had to code for an hour, using one of the games related to our intended age group. By completing the hour of coding, I've learned how important it is to introduce this topic to my students. In this day and age, an age where the world is at our fingertips because of technology, it is so important to introduce skills such as coding, to students. I encourage all youth-serving professionals to experience the hour of code themselves and understand its importance.
Evidence 2: Service-Learning Project: Powerpoint
In my W200 class at Indiana University, I completed a service-learning project where I paired up with a teacher and created artifacts for them using technology that I had learned in my class. One of the artifacts I created was a powerpoint using google slides. The powerpoint was used to address the following objectives in my lesson plan:
- Objective 2: Students will be able to list primary and secondary colors.
- Objective 3: Students will be able to mix colors in order to make primary or secondary colors.
Evidence 3: Service-Learning Project: Symbaloo
Another artifact that I created for Mrs. Jones was a symbaloo. Creating this symbaloo for Mrs. Jones was definitely a challenge. Since she is an art teacher, I had to research an abundance of art resources for her to use in her classroom. As a result of this project, I also have a newfound respect for art teachers. I think there is definitely a stigma about art teachers that their job is “easy”. However, it was very difficult to find lessons based off of standards, as well as find technology resources to use! Based on my service-learning project, I’ve learned that technology is more than just a tool in the classroom, it is also an aid to many students. Without technology, how could these students be able to watch videos without captions? Also, imagine how difficult it must of been for teachers with deaf students and students with disabilities back when technology wasn’t around. As a result of this amazing thing called technology, Mrs. Jones has an abundance of resources and ideas at her fingertips!
